A Day In My Life Essay

1272 words - 6 pages

On the summer vacations of 2009, I did not have any plans, but I knew that I wanted to do something exciting. My friends had nothing planned as well, and we all got together that hot night of May 21, 2009 and we all started to give ideas on what we should plan for summer vacation. A lot of ideas have stuck out much such as a trip to Six Flags Great America, fly to New York, and adventure of Chicago’s finest food. At the end, we ended up doing all three, but about going to Six Flags and flying to New York, I was not happy because I have a fear of heights.

After all, it was the first ride we were going to get on. The line was long and the day was hot. As we were waiting in the line, I seen little kids get on and once they got off they were happy. I got enough courage and I decided to give it a try. As forty five minutes passed, it was my turn to get on. I got seated and put my seatbelt on and I was perfectly okay. Until, they flipped me down on my stomach then I started to panic. “Get me off here because I am going to die,” were my last words before the ride lifted off. After the ride, I was paled and almost wanted to throw up. I had to rest for one hour before getting back to normal. After that, I didn’t ride any more high rides. I just went on the water rides which it seemed more fun and safe for me. At the end of the day, I was still afraid of heights.
After two weeks passed since I been to Six flags, it was our trip to New York; however, I was still afraid of heights. After landed safely, I never wanted to fly again and not only that, but because I was still afraid of flying. The flight was at 12 o’clock in the afternoon and I was pretty excited to head to New York. While I already work at the airport, I knew the nervousness would not kick in until I am on the airplane sitting down. As I board the plane and sat down, it started to bring back memories and I started to sweat. “Are you okay?” Stewardess asked.
“I am fine. I just had a flashback about flying during 9/11,” I replied.
I knew everything was going to be okay, but just wanted to make sure everything was secured, so no problems with the airplane goes wrong. The airplane was moving on the runway and before I can blink again it lifted up and I started to get worried. All the pressure from going up was on my body and it did not feel good. After the airplane got on a constant level, I started to calm down. As I was looking out the window and not caring that I was up 45,000 feet in the air, I knew my fear of height was slowing going away. About one hour and half later were getting closer to New...
