Problem 1:Madam May May has to deal with an increasingly diverse group of workers in her department. Suggest ways on how she can manage diversity effectively in the work environment.
Madam May May can use diversity concept in the work environment. It is because the concept of diversity includes acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is special, and recognizing our individual differences. D.P.Noe (2010) stated that the communication is the method to share information with colleagues, is part of team building, customer service, conflict management and every interaction that takes place that involves some form of communication. So, Madam May May can use the interacting group’s concept to manage diversity effectively in the work environment. Most of the group decision-making in the interactive group. In the group members will be face to face and rely on both verbal and nonverbal interaction and communicate with each other.(Robbins,2013,p.21)Therefore, Madam May May should use the good communication skills and it can help to reduce the barriers erected because language and cultural differences. So, Madam May May can encourage employees to share concern as they arise and employees should feel important to the company.(Mitchell 2013) Then, the employees will use the good communication to communicate with each other and not easily to offend other peoples that can change the employee’s attitude become more goods.
1.1.3 The last ways Madam May May can manage diversity effectively in the work environment is form into many groups. Madam May May can give the employees to choose
the group that more prefer and attracted. So, Madam May May can use the cohesiveness concept to manage the diversity effectively in the work environment. This is because cohesiveness concept is degree to which group members are attracted to each other and are motivated to stay in the group. Then, Madam May May should increase the cohesiveness because it can encourage agreement with group goals and also can increase group status and admission difficulty. (Robbins, 2013,p.16)
1.1.4 In conclusion, Madam May May should develop the cooperate and communicate in different races and this will avoid the conflicts. So, the employee does can get along with each other and also can increase the productivity of the company. Therefore, our company will become more progress and successful.
