Determine who are the decision-makers immediately so that their attention is focus to getting them interested in the presentation. The audience is going to be diverse in many different aspects so make sure to use bias-free language. The different members of the audience might appeal to different aspects of the presentation so make sure it appeals to everyone involved. A positive-emphasis presentation that avoids using negative words will also help get everyone involved in the presentation.
Audiences will be both professional and non-professional. The non-professional audiences such as the customers are not going to know much about the data involved with the presentation. They might not even show much interest as well. So it is ...view middle of the document...
The experts such as the sales-person and mid-level managers know the information already. They are the ones who are concerned with the future of the company and how they can improve it. The experts deal with the company data on a daily basis this is exactly what they are concerned about. The customers want to know what services are being provided and how much is it going to cost them. The stakeholders or decision-makers want to know how much money is the company going to or currently making them. Lastly, as for the experts their main focus is the information being provided as well how they can make improvements to better the company.
It is also important to keep in mind the diversity of everyone involved in the presentation. The stakeholders who might be older, to the sale-person who could be younger a presentation must appeal to everyone on some level. Everyone in the group could be from many different ethnic backgrounds. It is important to make sure not to offend anyone’s beliefs. There could be different genders amongst the group as well. Certainly do not want to make a presentation offending women or gay men on the other hand. Not to mention that the education levels in the group plays a factor in how much they would understand the presentation.
The best presentation that appeals to a multiple audience is one that captures the company information to please the experts and puts illustrations and graphs catch the eye of the non-experts who might not pay as much attention as say a salesperson would. An effective message to everyone involved must be precise and to the point might include some great deal but go over that briefly. The presentation who also included some aspect that entertain the audience as well. Also the presentation must take into considerations the diversity of the group ethnically and racially. It is important to understand your audience on all levels know exactly what appeals to them and mold your presentation just that way. There is no doubt that the audience would listen to everything if the presentation was meant to please a certain group on different levels.
