Audience Analysis Paper

In order for any company to be successful knowing how to communicate successfully will help convey the message that is trying to be sent. Clark Incorporated has called a quarterly sales meeting so that quarterly sales could be discussed. In attendance will be stakeholders, which will include managers, sales people and customers. This audience will be presented sales figures from the past, present and hopes for future sales increases and how we plan to increase sales and customer count by the next quarterly sales meeting.

For smaller audiences an itinerary of the meeting would be sent before hand to give the audience a chance to get acquainted with the material and to compile any questions that they may want to ask at the end of the presentation. In either audience situation, giving a clear and understandable presentation will help those who can not see or hear well. Writing the presentation also gives each member of the audience a chance to follow what is going on and they will be able to make important notes if needed. Knowing and anticipating what your audience needs will have is also key in understanding who your audience is.
Listening is more effective if the listener focuses ore on understanding than on formulating a reply. (Locker-Kienzler). To ensure that the message is effective and understood at the end of each segment there will be pause for any questions that the stakeholders will have and it will also give them a chance to make sure they heard exactly what has been conveyed. Listening is an important aspect of giving a presentation. Many people miss important key points because they were not paying attention to what was being said. To keep this from happening there are notes on how to listen effectively inside the written material. One key way to listen effectively is to paraphrase what you hear the speaker say and at the end of the conversation ask others if they got the same understanding that you received. Another good listening technique is to write down key points that have any deadline dates and by doing this it will help ensure that dates are not forgotten. Also everything should be listened to, do not ignore it because you may think that it has nothing to do with you. You may be surprised very often that most things that you ignore are directly related to what you need to do.
