U kosbare bondel van liefde is oppad.Om ‘n babakamer te ontwerp is ‘n lekker en opwindende tydverdryf van die swangerskap.Om van die ouer se kant af die klein ding optimaal te ontwikkel is hier ‘n paar wenke om te volg.‘n Babakamer moet ‘n sensoriese ervaring wees, vol van teksture, kleure, lig en kreatiwiteit om hulle jong ontwikkelende breine te stimuleer en inspireer.’n Baba se brein is konstant besig om te ontwikkel en hul absorbeer die omringende omgewing soos ‘n spons.

Vloer: Voeg ‘n helderkleurige speelmat,met patrone, op die vloer sodat die baba tydens speeltyd self ondersoek kan instel

‘n Spieël en lig: Dit gee die geleentheid aan die baba om te eksperimenteer met skaduwees en refleksies.

Plaffon: Babas spandeer baievan hul tyd om na die plaffon te kyk terwyl hy of sy in die kot lê, so gee hul iets om na te kyk.Gebruik kontrasterende kleure wat die baba uiteindelik sal help met die onderskeiding van kleure .Kies eeder duidelike pattrone en konsepte,soos helder strepe , groot kollepatroon en idees volgens ‘n tema(byvoorbeeld ‘n woud,safari,plaas of see tema).Klein speelgoed wat van die plaffon afhang skep ook ‘n fokuspunt vir die baba om na te kyk.

Meubels: Moderne meubels met boogvormige lyne eeder as die tradisionele stukke wat reguit hoeke het skep ‘n vloeiende,rustige, kalmerende atmosfeer.Meubels kom ook in helder kleure voor soos magenta, geel of siaan.

Prente: Helderkleurige en kontrasterende kleur prente kan op die mure gehang word waar die baba dit kan sien.Plakkate met baba-gunstelinge soos gesigte wat glimlag,skaakborde, spirale , sigsag en ander patrone sal sekerlik die baba se aandag trek.

2. Stimuleer die ore
Musiek: Voeg ‘n CD-speler tot die babakamer.Babas is mal oor musiek.Speel rustige musiek(wiegelliedjies) voor slaaptyd en vrolike musiek tydens speeltyd wat insluit kindersang(byvoorbeeld “Old MacDonald”) en geestelike kinderssang(Byvoorbeeld Stapsoldaaitjie).Stel u baba bloot aan ‘n wye verskeidenheid musiekstyle en veral klassieke musiek.Kleuterversies, met eenvoudige taalgebruik en wat herhaal word bevorder ook taal.Bewegings help met herroeping van woorde .

Speelgoed: Sommige hangende speelgoed, kot speelgoed ,jumpers en binnehuise swaaie het ‘n musiek funksie wat u kan gebruik om u baba te vermaak terwyl hy of sy aan nuwe dinge blootgestel word

Musiekinstrument: Instrumente soos ‘n xilofoon en ‘n miniatuur klavier kan hul blootstel aan musiek , verkille in toonhoogte en hul eie vermoëns om musiek te maak en selfs van hul motoriese eienskappe te ontwikkel.

3. Stimuleer taalontwikkeling
U baba luister graag wanneer u lees.
