Scope of Project
The scope for this project includes all computer system running the following configuration:
• 6 computers with MS® Word 97
• 38 computers with MS® Word 2000
• 26 computers with MS® Word for XP
Additionally, all hardware that is deemed in need of an upgrade will be improved upon for the above mentioned computer systems and software will be installed in association with the scheduled installation of the WPS. Lastly, training for systems upgraded to the new WPS will be provided.
In order to allow for a smooth transition and to reduce the overall impact on daily business operations, installation and implementation of the upgraded WBS will be completed in phases. Each individual entity within Baderman will be upgraded by department and will be performed in connection with the Project Manager’s scheduled downtime for each corresponding department being upgraded. This will include purchasing the most complete hardware and software packages at the most affordable and reasonable price. In the event that affordable hardware and software cannot be located, a budget limit of $300,000 will be established for the purchase of said hardware and software. Moreover, the amount of man-hours needed for the accomplishment of the project will be limited by the vendor’s abilities and requirements.
All hardware and software for this installation will be identical so as to allow compatibility between entity to entity and department to department. This will not only create a more streamlined environment for Baderman, but will also increase efficiency, effectiveness, and employee morale. Customer satisfaction and growth in sales may also rise.
