1.0 Introduction

International Business refers to the performance of trade and investment activities by firms across national borders. It can also be considered a cross-border business.
As part of our study in International Business we are required to consider the expansion of a local firm outside its national borders. Our team of consultants comprising: Joan Barnett, Claudia Daley and Brent Richardson is proposing the partnership of Honey Bun Jamaica and Costco Wholesale Chain in the Canadian Market. The proposal seeks to outline market entry strategies, value chain activities and possible risk factors critical to the success of the project. The proposal will also seek to highlight competitive advantage, cultural similarities and projected sales over a three (3) year period.
This partnership will take the form of exporting various products such as donuts, biscuits, buns, rum and fruit cakes aimed at reaching the Jamaican diaspora in Canada, and the Jamaicans-Canadians particularly within the Toronto business hub and other foreign residents, desirous of trying out Jamaican products.

2.0 Key Assumptions/Objectives

The proposed undertaking is based on the following key assumptions and objectives:
* Capitalizing opportunities in foreign markets - better serve Jamaican/Canadian
* Invest working capital in operational activities, increasing efficient production
at full capacity minimizing operational cost.
