Christianity is one of the Semitic, living religion that inspires the lives of adherents through significant aspects of tradition; principle beliefs, sacred texts and writings, core ethical teaching and personal devotion. Christians live out their life with teachings that have long survived since the time of Jesus. Till this day in modern society, the context of the Bible and ethical teachings are continuously applied to practice and the life of the everyday believer.

As previously mentioned, it contains teachings of Jesus with various themes; additionally the sacred text is central to the thought, morality and ethics of adherents. Thus such principle ethics exist in the 10 Commandments, Beatitudes and Jesus’ Commandment of Love.
The 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) or the Decalogue highlights the significance of divine origin; in other words, it was written directly by God’s hand on two stone tablets. The first three refer to the worship of God, while the remaining seven incorporate obligations to one’s neighbour and the society. The Decalogue is the important basis for structuring and living the Christian life. It influences Christians to able to communicate with God through the everyday application of the commandments to modern society, be it intentionally or self-consciously, for example, it is against the legal laws of society to commit murder and at the same token it is against God’s commandment ‘Do not kill’ (Exodus 20:13).
The Beatitudes is also one of the fundamentals in Christian ethical teachings. It is evident in Matthew 5:3-12 that Jesus delivers nine beatitudes that praise people for various virtues to be enriched, such as poverty of spirit, meekness and hunger for righteousness. They show a person the way to true happiness and explain how to travel on this path. Because of this, adherents practice the act of compassion towards others, no matter what race, gender or difference they are. Those remaining faithful to God under ridicule and persecution, as well as willingly giving one’s life in the name of Christ, is the highest expression of love for God.
