Club IT is a downtown nightclub that is owned by two Business graduates, Lisa Tejada and Ruben Keys. Both Lisa and Ruben always have had a passion for music. They performed as musicians to help support themselves during their college years. With this experience, they gained a vast knowledge and familiarize themselves about the nightclub operations.
At Club IT, its mission is to, “offer you live music, DJs, dance space and refreshments that suit your lifestyle. You are our friends, and we seek to build a community that meets regularly at Club IT,” (Wiley 2005). The main clientele at this nightclub would be those of legal age that are looking for an enjoyable time or to hang out.
The owners of this club have both done major remodeling of the club’s interior which brings fun and energy to atmosphere. Without developing any knowledge about the clients’ likes or preferences, then the club will not be able to provide a satisfying service. Customer orientation states that the more I
can learn about the customers’ needs and preferences, and then I can make a better determination for the club’s analysis. This may also boost the business for the club as well as its reputation.
Because customers’ preferences and tastes vary and changes, I must also be able to assess such situations and provide a solution to this matter. Club IT provides a variety of music to meet the different likes of the various customers which is already one step to achieving this goal.
I also strongly believe that by the owners or employees interacting with the clients, that they will feel comfortable and it will give them a sense of belonging. It will work as a two way street for us to know each other better. This is important for this club as its mission is to help build a community. By collecting this information, I can help Club IT innovate and build a system that will work for both the employees and customers. I can work together with the owners to also create a website for the club so that people can go on and view what the club is about, what is offered such as entertainment or refreshments and also view comments from other customers’ experience at Club IT. I have always found that hearing about other people’s experience is also a great advertising and strategic tool in a customer based business. With pursuing the customer orientation strategy and implementation of any IT systems, I must also take cost into consideration. We must be able to carry about out activities in a cost effective manner in which the owners will be able to maintain. I have read articles of businesses that invested in IT systems or other technological advanced systems that were a great asset to the company but could not maintain it because of its high cost.
In conclusion, a strong customer support system will help with the growth and profitability of the nightclub. During my internship, I will help Lisa and Ruben prioritize its
goals and objectives with my information analysis. I want to ensure that we build a solid customer relationship as well as manage our information properly.
