Club IT – Part Two
Club IT is a recently renovated night club owned and managed by Ruben Keys and Lisa Tejada. Club IT’s mission is to create a community that meets regularly and to offer the best in music, food and refreshments that suits their customer’s lifestyles (“About Club IT”, 2010). “Club IT’s customers are mostly net generation and millennials. They regularly use mobile technologies such as Blackberry’s, PDAs, camera phones, and other wireless communication devices” (“About Club IT”, 2010). With the completion of the renovation to their club, Ruben and Lisa have determined that the clubs information management is lagging behind. The use of CRM would allow for the club’s customers to receive emails for special events as well as allow the customer to purchase tickets in advance.
Ruben and Lisa could also implement Wi-Fi into their club. The clientele of Club IT currently uses Blackberry’s and PDA’s. The clientele also uses other various forms of electronic communication such as camera phones. Allowing the customers the use of Wi-Fi would enable the customers to access the internet for whatever the need may be. Some may access the internet for business purposes and others may use it to communicate their nightly entertainment adventure.
The clubs inventory system is also another problem of Club IT. The club currently uses spreadsheets with some vendor links to order the inventory for the club. This method allows for mistakes in ordering and increases the potential dissatisfaction of the customers. The club needs to ensure the availability of all of their products if it is going to be on the menu or on the website. The purchasing agent also has to obtain Ruben and Lisa’s approval before submitting an order. Implementing a supply chain management system (SCM) would decrease the cycle time of ordering supplies and allow for the inventory to be easily managed. “The function of supply chain management (SCM) is to plan, organize, and optimize the supply chain’s activities”. (Rainer & Turban 2008) SCM would also allow for electronic approvals of Lisa and Ruben when submitting an order. The purchasing agent would make the order in the system then submit it to Lisa and Ruben electronically for their approval. Ruben and Lisa would then receive a notification of the pending order and would be able to approve the order with a click of the button sending their approval back to the requestor.
The current...
