* Perfect communication : apabila pesan sepenuhnya dimengerti oleh penerima

* Control behavior
Case :
seorang guru menegur anak yg mendominasi dalam kerja kelompok pesan guru tersebut akan mengontrol perilaku anak tsb dalam kerja kelompok di kemudian hari
* Build motivation
Case :
boss memberikan sebuah guide dan pujian pada pekerjaan karyawan guide/pujian akan memotivasi karyawan untuk bekerja lebih baik

Untuk menjadi efektif, pesan yang disampaikan harus memiliki reason yang kuat dan diulangi terus menerus.
Contoh ketika manager memberikan keputusan, karyawan akan lebih mendukung keputusan tersebut jika manager menjelaskan seluruh alas an dibalik keputusan tersebut.
ii. One way nature
Komunikasi berlangsung secara formal dan satu arah.
Contoh manajer sering memberi saran kepada karyawan, tetapi jarang menanyakan saran kepada karyawan, baik untuk perusahaan atau manajer itu sendiri

* Upward Communication komunikasi mengalir kea rah level/grup yang lebih tinggi
Function : meningkatkan awareness yang dirasakan oleh lower level, menyediakan
feedback untuk meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan ke level yang lebih tinggi
Contoh : karyawan manajer
Problem :
i. Higher levels’ are easily distracted
Pada saat tanggung jawab manajer meluas, karyawan akan lebih sedikit memiliki kesempatan untuk berkomunikasi dengan manajer.
Solution membuat conference, membuat report form dengan headlines yang singkat dan informative, membuat agenda untuk mencocokan jadwal manajer dengan karyawan

* Lateral Communication komunikasi mengalir di level yang sama
Function : mempersingkat waktu, memudahkan kordinasi
Contoh : karyawan karyawan, manager manager
Problem :
i. Create dysfungsional conflicts
Karena berada di level yang sama, karyawan menjadi bossy dan mendominasi.

Interpersonal Communication (Komunikasi antarpribadi)
* Oral Communication komunikasi langsung secara lisan
Contoh : group discussion, pidato, rumor mill
* Speed and Feedback
Kita dapat menyusun pesan dan menerima respon dalam waktu yang sangat cepat. Jika penerima pesan tidak mengerti isi pesan yang disampaikan, maka dapat langsung dikoreksi.
* The more people, the greater distortion
Setiap orang memiliki cara sendiri untuk menerjemahkan pesan. Semakin banyak pemberi/penerima untuk suatu pesan, maka akan semakin sulit untuk menerima pesan sesuai konten aslinya.

* Writing Communication komunikasi melalui kata/symbol yang tertulis
Contoh : memo, email, instant messaging,
* Tangible and Verifiable
Penerima dan pengirim memiliki bukti percakapan yang dapat disimpan sampai kapanpun.

Pengirim dapat mempersiapkan kata-kata yang ingin disampaikan terlebih dahulu sehingga penerima dapat lebih mudah menangkap pesan
* Time Consuming
Membutuhkan waktu 1 jam untuk menyampaikan pesan yang dapat disampaikan selama 10-15minutes melalui oral communication.
* Lack of feedback
Tidak ada jaminan bahwa penerima pesan mengerti pesan yang dimaksud oleh pengirim

* Nonverbal Communication komunikasi yang ditekankan oleh body language, intonasi, dan ekspresi wajah,
