Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and President Woodrow Wilson are the main figures that shaped
America during what is called the Progressive Era and worked to improve the American people’s lives.
Being that Roosevelt was aligned with the Republican Party and Wilson the Democratic Party their views
politically would differ greatly, but their views socially would seem to overlap with the common

and also provided for a set of minimum wages for women workers and ended child labor(Bowles, 2011).
Industrialization was something that was growing at a somewhat rapid pace the American values were
faced with challenges.
Nationally these two men wanted the same thing but had different ways of getting there as
Wilson’s wanted to get rid all trust by using the governments power once and only once, he seen it as a
role of the state governments to regulate these business’s and he believed in doing so that small
business would flourish.
In contrast Roosevelt thought that the federal government should have a bigger role in regulating
things such as the economy and thus had more power in stopping the abuses by big trust.
