The Sharon Lakes community is an urban community located in the middle of two other communities within the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. Sharon Lakes is an urban environment with many cultures, languages, backgrounds, and history to offer its residents. The residents of the Sharon Lakes community are mostly Hispanic, African American, Caucasian, Asian, and a number of other nationalities mixed in. Each resident offers numerous amounts of diversity and flair to the Sharon Lakes community.

With community members upholding these responsibilities the community is a safe, clean, and family friendly environment to live in.
As a member of the Sharon Lakes community living socially responsible means to treat others with dignity, respect, and to watch over each other as family. Each member of the community plays duplicate rules. Social responsibility in this community means playing, mother or father to others children, chef, coach, friend, mediator, janitor, and most important a teacher. Sharon Lakes community gives back what is put into it. When all members contribute and come together living in Sharon Lakes feels like living with family.
In Jurupa Valley, California, many types of people live in the community. Doctors, Lawyers, Police, Firefighters, “Blue Collar” workers, other local government workers, retailers, and distribution warehouse operators are just some of the many examples of trades held by the community members. The city is about 40 miles outside Los Angeles and Orange County just inside Riverside County.
Members of the community interact at home and in their respective neighborhoods as they take walks and use parks and patronize local businesses. Schools, Churches, and community organizations are the major way community members interact with each other because although there is minor interaction, many community places do not traditionally foster interaction between families or groups. An example of this would be drive through fast food restaurants, or even businesses in which people do not tend to talk to each other despite a common neighborhood, etc. The local donut shop is another good example of a place where many people come and interact with each other although others are in and out without any interaction other than with the business operators. Community members also interact in local stores and particularly grocery stores but also malls and other business establishments.
In this community the members are responsible to pay taxes, maintain their property in an orderly fashion as not to harm property desirability (value), and important not encroach on other community members’ rights or privileges. The community is responsible to provide safety as the most important responsibility. Speed bumps, general, and traffic rules enforced, and a reliable law enforcement agency are a basic requirement from the community. Second the community is responsible for providing an environment supportive of family activities and values.
To be socially responsible in this community needs to allow other members of the community the rights and privileges one is entitled to. One also needs to participate in the community to the extent that their circumstances allow. A key responsibility to the community is to take the time necessary to educate themselves on the beliefs, backgrounds, and history of local politicians.
