Islam is one of the largest followed religions in the world. The religion is similar to Christianity in several ways, but there are also multiple contrasts. I am a Christian, but due to my personal experience dating a Muslim man, I was forced to study and learn some intricate areas of the religion. I will be presenting the contrast of relationship and marriage of Christianity vs. Islam.

The Islamic view on dating is different from Christianity. Muslims believe dating is prohibited as long as there is a third person to supervise, this will prevent the couple from â€œharamâ€ which Christianity Christians call sin. The Bible do not have any scriptures on dating for Christians. The scriptures talk more about marriage and what to avoid before marriage; â€œto avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.â€ (1 Corinthian 7:2 KJV), â€œBut if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.â€ (1 Corinthian 7:9 KJV). In the Islamic religion the Muslim faith is placed in the third party to keep the couple from â€œharamâ€™, whereas the Christian religion faith is in God.
Morality in both religions is viewed differently when it comes to dating and marriage; the sexual morality is especially different. Islam prohibited fornication when dating, this was a subject that arose constantly with my Muslim friend and I. Christianity instill morals from the Bible.
