Decision-Making Process Paper
Making decisions it part of our life, in fact I have to make a decision every day at school, work and home. Making the decision of going back to school was an important event in my life. I knew that retaking my education would change my routine and most important it will take some of my family time. Making the decision was simple because I know what I want to accomplish, but the process was more than just say I will do it. It did take me several steps to take the final decision that led me to University of phoenix.
The first step was the reason of going back to school. I want to get a degree; I know that a bachelor’s ...view middle of the document...

Lastly my finances play a big role, I knew that UOP tuition was pricy and my budget are very tight, so I did take advantage of my education benefits from the Department of Veterans Affair. My UOP advisor walked me through the process and help me with all the paperwork. Now I am a proud UOP student looking to get a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management.
While reading chapter 3 on “Management” by Thomas S. Bateman, I learned about the stages of decision making as a manager and I noticed in a way that I did follow the some of the steps pointed on the text book. I first identified the problem; I knew that to be able to find more opportunities to grow within the company I will required a bachelor’s degree to have access to a promotion. Second, I generate a motivation to go back to school by getting my family involved on my decision. Third, I did evaluate few schools and programs. Following, I made my choice by picking UOP as my school. Then I implement my decision by applying in UOP. Lastly, the evaluation of my decision: after two classes in UOP I am sure that going to UOP was the best decision I ever made. I love to be in the business administration and management program.
I personally think that even if I knew about the steps of decision making before I enroll at school: I would make my decision the same way I did it. I am a production supervisor at work and father of three children, so I have to make decisions every day. My experience on my day to day routine has helped me to make better decisions.
