Nowadays, the electricity exerts a significant influence on individual's life, not only because the high demand of production in each country, also the diversity of peoples' lives. Therefore, the raw materials, such as oil, coal and gas, are highly demanded in the world. Known to all, however, these materials which are mentioned above are non-renewable resources, and their reserves will certainly, continuously and greatly decrease, so, exactly it is vital to reverse the irrational use of non-renewable resources. In recent years, in virtue of the greatly decreasing of non-renewable resources, scientists and researchers are accelerating the development of the Green Energy, such as wind, wave ...view middle of the document...

It is the common knowledge that taking advantage of the non-renewable resources to produce electricity, such as oil, coal and gas, can greatly damage the environment, resulting in the severe ecological crisis. The greenhouse effect and ozone depletion are primarily resulted from the immoderate misuse of the non-renewable resources. Furthermore, the cost, including three steps of processing raw materials—exploration, exploitation and purification, labor and machines' maintenance are very high even though their scale of production. Moreover, due to the fact that the non-renewable resources cannot be renewable, or more than millions or billions of years to form, reducing the large-scale use of the non-renewable resources used for producing electricity allows of no delay. Finally, it matters for your brother, and all generations after you though someone does not care the depletion of the non-renewable resources. Therefore, searching for the green energy instead of the non-renewable resources should be priority.

Fortunately, because there has been growing public concern that the previous methods of producing electricity may pollute the air and damage the environment, and some laws require electricity industry to restructure being comply with the environment policies, together, environmental concerns and electricity industry restructuring are making the development of new green energy and marking a new era. The green energy includes wind, wave and solar energy. Among them, the solar energy would be primarily concerned. What is solar energy? The definition of the solar energy is "Solar energy, radiant light and heat from the sun, has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range of ever-evolving technologies."( Wikipedia-Solar Energy). And there are several solar energy technologies including solar heating, solar photovoltaics, solar thermal electricity which can make contributions to find the keys to some urgent environmental problems the world. About the solar thermal electricity, the advantages of solar energy to be the resource generating electricity are obvious. First, evidently, the solar energy is completely free, without paying any money. Second, using solar collectors can absorb the light from the sun and quickly converse it into electricity. Third, using solar energy as a resource to generate electricity can be clean without any pollution in the air. Finally, due to the fact that the technology is greatly improving, for instance, existing generation facilities can provide at least 14,000 megawatts, the solar energy could be the better alternatives for the non-renewable resources.

It is true that solar energy, to be the material producing electricity, is better and has its many advantages, but, its drawbacks cannot be ignored. First of all, it is difficult to collect because of different weather. In UK, the weather may change so...
