Electronic Portfolio’s

Electronic portfolios or E-folios for short are becoming essential tools, not only for the technology industry, but also for students, job-seekers, and even employers. E-folio’s are a great way to express literally anything that you want. This is the reason why e-folios are so unique and mainly why they have the ability to be so versatile. But, what exactly is an e-folio, and how is it created? I will go over these questions and why e-folios should be used whenever possible.

If you are an experienced job candidate, then your e-folio should emphasize previous job training, performances and experiences (Moody). Any licensures, certifications, as well as, previous job projects should definitely be included (Moody). If you are a current employee, you could use your e-folio to strengthen your job status. You could keep it updated on current or past projects you have worked on and even state any recognition for a job well done (Moody). Also, as you encounter new job responsibilities, you can easily add those to keep your e-folio current. Creating an e-folio ultimately depends on who you are and what message you are trying to convey.

I have demonstrated what e-folio’s are and how one can be created, but the real question still remains. Why should anyone create an e-folio? Well, creating an e-folio has many benefits. For example, e-folio’s foster active learning (Ramey). These portfolios help students to set goals for learning, review their goals periodically, and assume responsibility for their own learning (Ramey).
