For a senior high school student, the most struggling question can not be found in their final examinations, nor in discussions whenever your teacher asks you during recitations. It is not what your guidance counsellor asked you once, when you were in a big trouble. For a fourth year high school student, deciding what course they should take up the time they enter college was the biggest turning point in their life for this is where their future lies into. It is like the biggest decision you have to do in your life because it is not just some silly question you have to answer by yes or no. It is not the type of question that you can answer in just a snap of a finger. It would take up a lot ...view middle of the document...
They are starting to realize that they would not have to limit themselves and stick on doing household chores for the rest of their lives or just let their husband do the work. In today’s generation, it is already acceptable for women to have a profession the same as the gentlemen. Before, the will never see a vehicle in the streets with a women driving in it. Now, we can also witness a woman driving a tricycle for a living. Whenever you walk into the streets and see the cops drinking coffee in the morning, you will notice a woman in the pack.
The study focuses on how female students decide what program in college they will take up as soon as they graduate in secondary education. It also highlights what are the factors they consider in choosing a course we want to know further what pushes the females to engross themselves in the engineering program.
We conducted a survey concerning selected Female Students of De La Salle Lipa on what engineering program do they prefer as a course in college, most of the respondents answered Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) as their program. If you will look in the graph above (G1), you will notice that ECE has the most number among the five courses that women prefer as their course.
As per the results gathered, the reason why they chose ECE rather than any other engineering courses is because, here at De La Salle Lipa, they have this goal for the ECE majors to maintain a grade of 2.5 (80 – 82) in their major academic subjects. If the students fail to meet the expected grades, it would be required for them to repeat the subject if they are still willing to pursue the program. This results to emerging passing rates of students, higher than the national passing rate of 34.51% in the board exams.
Electronics and Communication Engineer also known as ECE is a 5-year college program which focuses on the conceptualization, design and development of electronic, computer and communication products, systems, services and processes. A graduate from the ECE program who first passed the Electronic Engineering Licensure Examination will be tagged as an Electronics and Communication Engineer.
If you will compare it to the Electrical Engineering program, EE deals with the general aspects of design and development when it comes to electrical equipment such as power generators and electric motors.
The Computer Engineering program or called as COE focuses on hardware conceptualization, design and assembly, strengthened with the utilization of CISCO networking technology and certification. The Computer Engineering students are trained to be experts in areas of computer architecture, electrical circuits and devices, communication systems and hardware design
While in the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering program, the program is designed to provide students with exposure and expertise in such fields as manufacturing and service industries. The Industrial Engineering students are trained...
