FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE NATURE AND LEVELS OF CRIME
Crime is the breaking of rules or laws, it’s the commission of an act that is forbidden and makes the offender liable to punishment by that law. In the last couple of years there have been lots of violent crimes such as robbery, murder rape, assault and vehicle theft.
First of all the reasons for committing a crime include greed, jealousy, revenge or pride. Some people decide to commit crime and carefully plan everything in advance to increase gain and decrease risk. These people are making choices about their behavior, some even consider a life of crime better than a regular job believing crime brings in greater rewards, ...view middle of the document...

One major factor that causes crime is easy access. Many firearms provide a simple means of committing a crime while allowing offenders close to their victims the increased availability of free information on the internet also makes it easier to commit crime. And lastly researchers have found out that warmer temperatures boost aggression than the cold weather.
There are negative impacts of violent crime, violent crime may result in physical injury to the victim, requiring medical attention the nature of the injury might be affected by the type of crime committee the weapons used in the attack, the victims of the attack and the location. crime also causes damages to victims assaults may result in injury, shock or loss of property, time off work and financial losses. The cost of crime for the victims may include money or goods that are lost, and the costs of replacing lost property. Some victims may feel compelled to move house or leave the country as a result of incidents of violence. For some people violent crime is highly lucrative Giddens A.(2009) said that “Areas suffering from greater material deprivation generally have higher crime rates and higher proportions of ethnic minority groups tend to live in such areas”. People living in inner city neighborhoods have a much greater risk of becoming victims of crime than do residents of more effluent sorb urban areas.
There are factors that support the proliferation of crime and violence, the proliferation of crime is partly sustained as a result of the fact that practices that sustain crime, and people who are involved in crime, are socially accepted in many communities. Reports have documented a phenomenon in terms of which known criminals are widely tolerated, or even admired, particularly if they are perceived as preying on people from other communities.
