Fashion photography is an art career based on capturing the art of the latest fashions and designs such as, clothes, hairstyles and make-up, and jewelry. This career is known to be very captivating and lets you show your creative side. From fashion to medical, this job is most exciting and practical. This photography is usually taken in studios, and often in outdoor locations Not only do they just take pictures, but they use their creative minds to turn this profession into an art.

They also need to be extremely confident and have the persistence to gain the work. Stamina is needed for coping with long hours and uncomfortable conditions.

There are a few courses in photography and art. Fashion photographers need certain equipment to make their pictures perfect. Fashion or glamor photographers use a digital SLR (DSLR) camera. A digital SLR is a camera to begin your fashion career. Photographers need a camera that can respond to commands, not just automatically adjust to ambient conditions. A well prepared photographer has more than one camera for the shoot and a variety of lenses for different types of shots and effects. Most photographers start with a standard 24-to-120mm zoom lens because that's the lens that usually comes with the camera. The most often used professional cameras are Nikon, Mamiya, and Canon, but other professionals have used Vivitar and Pentax. With the camera, you will need a lens hood, lens filters and a few extra-high-capacity memory cards.

Some problems Photographers face when first starting to photograph is the cost of their equipment, it comes out to be very expensive. All the equipment alone can come out being up to $12,000 or more.
