Internship Goal Setting
While doing an internship it is crucial to have goals that you want to accomplish. Goal setting is an ideal way to learn new skills and knowledge. The skills you learn at an internship will help you prepare for your future career. Setting goals for yourself to achieve in an internship, as well as life, will ultimately dictate who you are, what you are doing, where you are going, and finally where you’ll end.

Because I am learning these things now, I will be more suited for a future employer. Therefore I will be likely to get a job when I graduate, and that’s the most important thing to me as a college student.
I have taken many accounting courses throughout my academic career. All of the accounting courses I have taken will help me in this internship and in my future job. I am doing billing for a small department of a large entity. Classes like Financial Accounting and Accounting Information Systems all provided me with knowledge that I use in my internship. Financial Accounting taught me the basic terms and principle of accounting, for example accounts payable, and how to analyze basic reports. Accounting Information systems taught me about internal controls and the division of responsibilities. These concepts from Accounting Information Systems enable me to see why procedures are done the way they are.
By linking the classroom and internship experience I can start to see what my future will be like if I chose to enter the accounting field. This internship gives me an understanding of the office format I will be working in. ...
