Kindergarten As Academic Boot Camp

1.The purpose of Graceyâ€™s investigation. Graceyâ€™s used the Boot Camp and
kindergarten to show us how they are similar. Both camps begin with a
group of individuals from different backgrounds that are molded into a
complaince groups, that on command will follow certain routines. The
purpose of kindergarten is to prepare students for the demands of school and
the authority of teachers and administrators, but also for the demands of
work and the authority of the employers,if they are to survive and succeed in
We learn all learn to partake in a bureaucratic society, it provides us with the
framework within which everyday activity takes place and it shapes and
constrains the behavior of everyone. Learning to operate in a bureaucracy is
a crucial aspect of socialization. a process rather than a product because
there is no end to socialization. It begins at birth and continues throughout
life. When we were born into society we are immediately located within the
social structure. Social structure is the framework for society that establishes
the typical patterns for the society. The major part of our social structure is
culture, social class, social status and social institution.
5. If a child plays the role of student adequately that child is identified as a
good student by the schoolâ€™s standards and has therefore learned to develop
positive identities with their teachers and the school/educational institution.
Students who do not comply with the student role are consideredâ€ problem
childrenâ€ may be referred for psychological help.
6.Some children are likely to play the student role more adequately because
they are able to express their personal and separate...
