Economy- Nicaragua, is the poorest country in central America, it has a widespread underemployment and poverty. Its economy is very bad it has bad GPD rates, and a very bad poverty rate. Its unemployment rate 5.9% of its population, 48% of is population is below its poverty line. Its public debt is 87% of its GPD, and its external debt is 4.7 billion dollars. All of this country’s stock money only brings in 507.5 million dollars. It exports coffee, beef, shrimp, and lobster, which bring in 2.344 billion dollars. It imports consumer goods, machinery and equipment, raw materials, petroleum products, which bring in 3, 968 billion dollars. Out of all the people who work, 29% of them work in agriculture, 19% work in an industry, and 52% work in services.

The western half of the country was colonized by Spain. This means that the people living here were greatly influenced by the Spanish culture and as a result have similar culture to the other Spanish-speaking Latin Americans countries.
