In any workplace employees posses different characteristics that arise due to variances in age, culture, gender, marital status, heritage, sexual orientage,religious beliefs, physical abilities, educational capabilities among others which is referred as diversity in the workplace. Innovation and ease in problem solving is better dealt with in an organization where there is diversity due to many minds coming together and brain storming over an issue and at the end of it all come up with a solution.
Reduction in employee turnover costs will be avoided in situations where this concept is employed as they will feel valued and will have no reason to leave. This will in turn save the company the cost of always hiring and training new employees. Also in companies that apply this concept in hiring their employees will benefit in terms of growth due to high level of productivity that comes up as a way of incorporating the concept. Also communication is enhanced in such instances. Conflicts between employees are fewer since they all understand that they are from very different backgrounds.
