Bitter Sweet Feelings Amongst Illegal Immigrants
Illegal immigrant creates a drain on the U.S Government. The total impact that illegal immigrants have on the United States is that Immigrants are causing a financial deficit. Illegal households created a net fiscal deficit at the federal level of more than $10 billion dollars in 2002. The illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government and only paid $16 billion in taxes. Illegal immigrants do not harm America’s economy. Illegal immigrants have been drawn further into economic mainstream, which could benefit the economy by fueling economic growth and increasing the share of taxes paid by immigrants. Some immigrants applied to the Internal Revenue Service for individual tax identification numbers, allowing them to pay taxes like any citizen –and thereby to eventually get a home mortgage.
Illegal immigrants are increasing are product sells such as phone carriers, credit card outfit, mortgage lenders, banks and insurers and others which concluded that the market of 11 million or so potential customers is simply too big to be ignored. It may be against the law for illegal immigrants to be in our country but there is nothing illegal about selling to them. Wells Fargo has half a million accounts, a majority of them, they acknowledge, opened by unauthorized aliens who lack regular residency or citizenship papers. By finding ways to treat illegal immigrants like any other consumers, companies are in effect legalizing and legitimizing millions of people who technically have no right to be in the U.S.
Experts agree that the undocumented, a majority of them are Hispanic, are one of the largest sources of population growth. They added 700,000 new consumers to the economy each year, more than the 600,000 or so legal immigrants. More undocumented immigrants paying income and property taxes would help ease the taxpayer strain for the schools, health care, roads, and other services illegal immigrants use. Let’s make a plan to provide path amnesty and full legalization for many unauthorized residents.
