Operating a small family owned chain of Jamaican style cuisine restaurants is nothing short of daunting. It takes a lot of hard work and team of dedicated staff, to execute the goals set out by Top Level management.

I work for Negril Café. It’s a small, but busy chain of buffet style restaurants here in Nassau, The Bahamas, and employs more than 36 persons across the 3 restaurants that are in operation. With that said, it is my goal to move out of administration and into front house management as a restaurant manager after completion of this course.

Be able to assess the organisation’s ability to manage efficiently and effectively to achieve targets and objectives.

Before discussing how the organization is able to efficiently and effectively manage to achieve its targets and objectives, I want to firstly outline our mission and vision at Negril Café.

Our Mission:
At Negril Café it is our mission is to enrich the lives of our customers, our employees and owners. We do this through superior quality food and beverages, legendary customer service, sales growth, cost controls and treating our employees like family. We believe that our employees are our most important resource and our success depends upon creating and retaining a staff capable of delivering an exceptional dining experience to every guest, every time!

Our Aim and Vision:
Negril Café’s success depends on our team. Our restaurants can only prosper and provide opportunities for employment and growth when we continue to improve ourselves, and the work we do. We recognize however, that success is not measured by sales; guest counts, and numbers alone. We are measured as much by the way in which we achieve our goals, as we are by the actual achievements themselves. We believe that a commitment to uncompromising values and integrity should always guide our decisions and actions as pursue our goals.
