Internal and External Customers
Many businesses have been successful because the company uses the four functions of management. The four functions are organizing, controlling, leading, and planning for management focuses on customer satisfaction. If the company does not use these factors the chance for succeeding will decrease. Many diverse issues cause the four functions of management to consider the planning team to work out details involving the company. The following paragraphs will outline these factors using Cadbury, KBR, Hilton, and Disney Corporation as examples.

Updating websites with the latest information is important to keeping the customer satisfied. The information technology department has to monitor the feedback from customers letting the business understand what the customer is wanting or needing keeping customers coming back for more. The Disney website shows the success for multinational diversification, conquering several aspects of the travel and entertainment markets. One internal factor for the majority of major corporations is to “Go Green” for the environment. People want to keep the air, sea, and land clean for the future.
Kellogg Brown and Root (NBR), is currently one of the largest contractor for the Unites States Army overseas and in some domestic areas as well. Kellogg Brown and Root provides services in several areas from technology engineering, provides energy through refining crude oil, and logistics services. The majority of the focus for this company is working on enhancing and building infrastructure throughout the world. Globalizing is a key factor in the success and growth of Kellogg Brown and Root. This company has grown to employ more than 28,000 employees and services around the world. Kellogg Brown and Root have contracts establish with the government around the globe, trying to help producing energy resources that create a profit margin and build infrastructure. No task is too big to be done on time; Kellogg Brown and Root stand by its motto “We deliver.”
The employees have a choice to make or give feedback on the company’s technology use in the field and present ideas on enhancing that capability. This builds teamwork and confidence that permits change inside the organization. This is known as leading for the functions of management. The employees provide suggestions and help build morale while enhancing camaraderie. Along with extensive research this feedback provided by the company employees leads the efforts in innovation as the company soars as the top competitor of the industry. After several years of technological development and planning, the company won an award to produce new technologies known as Advanced Catalytic Olefins (ACOTM) technology. This case in point of achievement shows the significance of strategic planning for the future.
