Internal and External Factors
In every organization there are many different factors in which control the ins and outs of the operation and dictate the successfulness of the organization. In this paper I will be explaining these factors in The Walt Disney organization. I will be giving a breakdown of all of the following, Globalization, Technology, Innovation, Diversity, and Ethics. Along with the breakdown of each factor I will be highlighting examples in which The Walt Disney Company. has exceled to hold themselves true to the factors that are needed in the business world. The technological achievements and enhancements that The Walt Disney Company is known for is incredible. From the electronic neon glowing light and water jet show put on in Disneyland California Adventure to the Internet and Phone customer service that is offered. I can remember my sister-in-law setting up to have an audio recorded voice of one special character named Mickey Mouse call my 4 year old niece right before she was going to bed to then wake up for a day at Disneyland. This was an eye opener as to the true technology that The Walt Disney Company puts forth.
Innovation
According to (Bateman & Snell, 2011), innovation is the introduction of new goods and services that are provided to the consumers. Every company in the business would has to have this factor to keep the consumers coming back for more. This truly is the life line and blood to the business world.
Hands down, The Walt Disney Company has surpassed this in every way imagined and continues to do so. In the employment all over the globe and at all Disney theme parks there are people who have the honored title of “Imagineers”. These Imaginers have the task and duty to innovation new products for the theme parks, toys, movies, food, even down to the way the Christmas lights are put around the parks every season. Every imagineer holds true to the motto, “We make the magic”, as they truly do from a consumer’s point of view and a fan of their wonderful work.
Diversity
Diversity is the mix of all kinds of people, from every walk of life, age, sex, race and religion. For over one hundred years plus, the United States has been changing in so many ways when it comes to diversity, from the freedom of slaves by Abraham Lincoln after the Civil War to the mass citizenship that Ronald Regan approved in the 1980’s.
From a personal standpoint and true consumer of products from The Walt Disney Company, the diversity that is exampled here is extraordinary.
