Internal and External Factors Paper
Management can be defined in various ways depending on the type of business is what will determine how these skills can be used best. Every work industry creates it's own work environment and depending on the industry is what dictates how it should be managed. In this situation, we will discuss the various management functions available and how it pertains not to one organization, but how it pertains to a certain industry, and that is managing a golf course.

When beginning the process of opening up a golf course having strong organizational skills is what can make you or break you. If individuals can not lead a team in this process what makes owners believe, he can manage when the process is completed. As Mark Gonzalez, head professional of Painted Dunes Golf Course stated to me, “as long as you have the financial resources to back you up it is up to the golf course manager to visualize the completion of this project.”
Leading a project of any size allows managers to find ways to motivate his staff to achieve the goals. They must be able to communicate effectively and have an understanding of the various personalities they will be working with. It is up to managers to find different ideas to keep his team satisfied. Projects of this magnitude can have a beginning, but managers need to be respectful and understanding to see the project come to fruition. Incentives are always an important tool to keep employees working long and hard. When golf course managers reach this point, they can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is important your employees continue to work hard for you, but in return managers must make this an enjoyable workplace. By this time employees have been working long and hard hours, and managers need to express how appreciative they are of all the hard work and dedication each employee has invested in this project.
Controlling is a function that entails the revision of goals. Managers identify if they are following the right path. This entails a comparison of goals from when they were first made to where they are now at. At times, it may require a manager to change courses if he feels the project is going in a different direction. Controlling does not only pertain to the financial aspects of the project, but can also deal with the completion of production or in many cases the increasing of customer satisfaction. In golf management, this is an important aspect of the production process. Here is where managers must determine if the project is heading in the right direction. If the correct measures are not taken to make sure the project has not fulfilled all the necessary objectives then this project may end up a disaster that can lead to a huge loss in money and time. Managers are able to see how their hard work has paid off.
