Banff Springs Hotel
William Cornelius Van Horne wanted to build a hotel that looked like a Scottish Castel
. He asked a New York architect named Bruce Price to build one . Later, the rooms were developed to show the American and British railroad travelers the Canadian Rockies. At the end of building, it was the largest hotel in the world, earning it the nickname “The Castel of the Rockies” .
During the years 1900-1910 people came to visit the original Banff Springs Hotel. In 1926, the original north wing caught fire and burned down. The mountain was originally sacred by the Ainu people of Japan. The Buddhists also considered it a portal to another world.
Edo Tokyo Museum
The Edo Tokyo Museum is built to look like a raised warehouse. It is about 204 ft. tall at its highest point. It is almost as tall as the Edo Castel in Japan. It covers 30,000 square feet. The museum was built in 1993 and was to display the culture and of Tokyo, Japan. It also shows what the people of Japan want the city of Tokyo to look like in the near future.
National Museum of Nature and Science
The National Museum of Nature and Science was built in 1877. The museum is the main museum for studying nature and science. It collects, orders and keeping the specimens is order. It has one of the richest histories in the country of Japan. It keeps the largest collection of organisms, that being 3.6 million, in the nation of Japan. The museum researches in evolution and technology, preserving it for hopefully the future generations.
The Kremlin is located in Moscow. The Kremlin is made up of many different pieces. The main parts are: The Arsenal, The State Kremlin Palace, The Senate, The Tsar Cannon and Bell, Cathedral Square, Ivan the Great Bell Tower, Assumption Cathedral, The Church of the Despotion of the Robe, The Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, The Cathedral of the Annunciation, Cathedral of the of the Twelve Apostles and the Patriarch Palace, The Terem, Facated, Great Kremlin Palace, and the Armory. When the Russians moved out of Moscow towards St. Petersburg, the Kremlin had a reduced effect on people. The Bolsheviks restored the power of the Kremlin after the Communist Revolution.
The Forbidden City
The Forbidden City is located in the center of Beijing China. It is called the Gu Gong in Chinese . It was the same palace that housed both the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is the largest palace in the world covering 182 acres. It has a 19.68 ft. deep moat and contains almost 10,000 rooms. The Forbidden City has two different sections, which are the Outer and Inner Court. The Outer Court is where the emperor ruled the nation of China. The Inner Court is where the royal family lived.
Tiananmen Square was built in 1417 in Beijing China. It was built during the Ming Dynasty. Its main purpose was to declare to the common people, who the next emperor and empress of China.
