Discuss the common elements described in the theories/ philosophies of Case, Kouzes, and Drucker including how their principles/ strategies relate to the new definition of entrepreneur leadership presented in Understanding Entrepreneurial Leadership.

The common elements described in the theories/philosophies of Case, Kouzes, and Drucker are vision, adaptability, and creativity. The new definition of Entrepreneurial Leadership is one of an enterprising, transformational leader who operates in a dynamic market that offers lucrative opportunities (Tarabishy, Fernald, Solomon, 2010). As stated the “Fustest with the Mostest” must aim at creating something truly new and different, non-experts and outsiders seem to do as well as “experts,” in fact, often better” (Drucker, 1985, p. 11). Without the element of creativity the element of vision has no chance of reaching it's full potential.
The concept of adaptability encompasses being able to adapt rapidly to change and handle it with ease. Entrepreneurial leaders must be able to apply changes to there model based on the need of the people, the business climate, and other situational factors. This element of entrepreneurial leadership is key element, because with out being able to adapt to change. You will not be able to keep up in a world such as ours which is led by innovations and a rapidly changing business climate. Leaving your company like most companies that where not able to adapt found themselves without vitality.
Discuss your leadership style or the style you aspire to be and how it compares to transactional, transformation, visionary, charismatic, principled, and entrepreneurial leadership
I believe that my leadership style can best be described as participative. The participative leadership style accepts input from others when making decisions and/or problem solving, but retain the final say when choices are made. With any decision that must be mad rather at home or work, I will listen to the input of those that my decision will affect. However I still make the final decision on my own, whether it be the decision that goes with the majority or against the majority. I do feel that their input is important and I consideration it, but I will ultimately decide. Although I identified my leadership style as participative, I feel that my leadership style share some similarities with transactional, transformation, visionary, charismatic, principled, and entrepreneurial leadership.
The transactional leadership style has the least similarity with the participatory leadership style. For the simple reason that transactional leadership emphasizes getting things done within the umbrella of the status quo. It is considered to be a by the book approach in which the person works within the rules of the company. The only similarity that exists with transactional and participatory leadership is that the decisions are made from the top-down
Unlike Transactional leadership transformational and charismatic leadership makes most changes happen for self, others, groups, and organizations reasons. Meaning most changes that take place are because of the majority. These styles share similarities with participatory leadership in that they both attempt to include others in the decision process. Visionary and charismatic leadership focuses on how the leader defines the future for their followers. Visionary leaders vision another possibility and have the ability to motivate others to achieve goals. Compared to participatory leadership styles which is more focused on the leader and their...
