I am unwritten, can’t read my mind, I’m undefined
I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips

The reason that I chose this song to do was because I feel like it is one of the most inspiring and uplifting songs out there. It has such a great message that everybody should live by. Personally, I feel like it means that life doesn’t have to stop after one bad thing happens. You need to keep living your life the way that you want to live it, and you are the only one who has control over what happens next. I can’t help but smile and sing along every time I hear this song, and that’s definitely one of my favourite things about it.

This is considered imagery because you can literally imagine yourself sitting at a window, with a notebook in your hand, just waiting for something to happen. This was the exact message that Natasha was trying to get across.
Another literary device that was seen a lot throughout these lyrics is a metaphor. An example of this would be in the lyrics “today is where your book begins; the rest is still unwritten.” This is a metaphor because she is comparing your life to a book. She is saying that your life...
