It is commonly said that words influence people to do things which they never imagined to do. In the play â€œJulius Caesar,â€ Caesarâ€™s best friend, Brutus, was persuaded about Caesar and he killed Caesar which he never imagined to do. Words are more powerful then sword and they are used as weapon in the play â€œJulius Caesar,â€ as well as Macbeth. In â€œMacbeth,â€ Macbeth who was a noble and worthy gentleman ended up being a tyrant. The three witchesâ€™ plan succeeded, they had fill greed in Macbeth, allowing him to make the choice of to kill Duncan. Macbeth does not make his decision so easily. In fact, at first he decided against it, but, with the knowledge that he could be the king. He could not help himself from considering it. After constant persuasion from Lady Macbeth, she and Macbeth finally made their decision â€œwhen Duncan is asleep (whereto the rather shall his dayâ€™s â€¦.., and the receipt of reason a limbeck only. (I, 7, 71-77). Lady Macbethâ€™s who came up with the plan to help Macbeth killing of his sovereign and the two royal guards without any blunders. she planned to get the guards to drink too much of drugged drinks, which make them asleep, and then they would be incapable of defending their ruler.
In a same way, neither would they be capable of defending themselves, on Lady Macbethâ€™s signal, Macbeth would creep into Duncanâ€™s chamber and slay him with servantâ€™s weapons. Afterwards, when Duncan is discovered dead, Macbeth kills again when he murders the servants who were guarding Duncan. Claiming he acted in rage Macbeth kills the servants so that they cannot bear witness against him. Macbethâ€™s greed had taken control of him and he could not turn back. It only the one idea embedded into Macbethâ€™s head to lead him toward his ambitious. After Macbeth grows more sinful and overpowered with greed he does not make any real attempt to change, and his conscious bothered by this. Slowly Macbeth loses grasp of his sanity and self- control.
Being consumed with power, Macbeth lets nothing stand in the way of his reign is all that he has left now. Macbethâ€™s malevolence and deceptiveness are shown further when he becomes so obsesses with the witched prophesies to his friend Banquoâ€™s, that he decides to hire two men to kill him and his son. It is not long before Macbethâ€™s own ruthlessness begins to disturb him, greatly. He suffers from troubled sleep, nightmares and loss appetite, and he is going insane. At a banquet in his castle Macbeth envisions Banquoâ€™s ghost and gives a terrified reaction in front of his guests.
Also because Macduff does not attend the banquet and flight to England, Macbeth in anger decides to have Macduffâ€™s family murdered. Later on Macbeth says to Lady Macbeth, â€œI am in blood/ Steppâ€™d in far, that, should I wade no more, / Returning were as tedious as go oâ€™er.â€ (III, 4, 168-170). Macbeth has lost hope. With regret, he feels that he is past the point no return, he has sinner so brutally and severely that he is unable to atone for it.
