Filoil usually has the lowest price in the gasoline market for every Filipino to benefit.
Since gasoline directs in every car tank, it has no packaging. But when it comes to the lubricants, USA 88 by Filoil, the packaging does look nice and presentable. It can surely compete with other lubricants in the market.
D. Competitive Analysis
I. Description of major competitors’ strengths/ weakness
1. Product. All gasoline companies carry the same kind of fuel; the only differences are the additives and the percentage of octane content. The big three: Shell, Caltex and Petron have already a name in the market and therefore are more popular and mostly preferred. These companies are called the big three petroleum players; they mostly build up the gasoline industry in the country.
Caltex and Shell are international companies and has mostly different outlets all over the world. Petron is built only in the Philippines, it goes nationwide but it also has international affiliates.
2. Distribution. When it comes to distribution, the big three has the bigger market share. Shell, Caltex, and Petron caters to all classes because of the fact that gasoline is a necessity.
3. Pricing. The prices of fuel usually depend on the oil industry of the country. Gasoline companies have agreed that if there’s a hike, all must implement it, same with rollback. Price usually depends on location, these companies usually don’t...
