Education cannot be the sole aim of life for its only one of many passages through which an individual comes in terms with the world and reaches his objectives.
With age, I found satisfaction and interest in various activities in which I took part. Experiments fascinated me and hence I was never reluctant to try new endeavours. What initiated my response to in new fields were actually my fleeting moods and lack of concentration that many people consider as negative qualities. My diverse interests not only proved its importance but also made me realize its downfalls and shortcomings. While I was in school I not only proved my ability as a sportsman but also as a tough competitor in academics (especially maths). Unlike many, I had the fortune of getting some teaching experience even before my secondary ...view middle of the document...
By the time I reached twelfth grade, I had already started teaching mathematics to tenth and eleventh grade students. Mathematics is one of the subjects I understand easily and never required guidance from any of my teachers. I loved the time I spent with my students and I believe that excellant results in school exams from them justifies my claim that my explanations were lucid and easily understood.
While teaching, I found that my students possess different amounts of intelligence and thus their answers were diverse, ranging from abstract and profound ones to obvious ones too. Such varied answers made me realize their disparate interpretations that enabled me to pay more attention to others in conversations (realizing the validity of other's statements if looked from a different perspective). Even in my studies, I started looking from various angles at any problem that confronted me,in the hope of finding clues to its solution.
People, especially my parents were elated to find an increase in my patience too. Education is a form of art which is passed on from one generation to another so as to grasp the evasive future. While teaching, I understood the real motive of education and learning which is pass on my extracted knowledge to others so that they can use it to rationalize and understand their problems. While helping my students cope up with the mathematics problems, I not only felt a deep sense of satisfaction, but also noticed an increase in my competitive nature and my urge to know new things.
The circle of teachers is very highly respected in every country as it is above all professions and I feel elated and ecstatic for having been a part of this community even though for a limited period. I now know why its called as "A Profession above all Professions" for it taught me more than what I taught my students.
