In order for a person to truly understand and be able to apply the various concepts regarding worldviews as it applies to pluralism, scientism, and postmodernism it will take a very thorough study of each. At a basic level one needs to understand one’s personal worldview and be in mental, emotional and spiritual accordance with the view. In the end a personal worldview is exactly that “personal.” A personal worldview should be established and founded on a firm belief and foundation of what is important to one as a person, and not faltered by how others may perceive or reject it. For good or for evil the nature of the world around me is a creation of God. He created all which we see around us. God one day took it all away and then recreated it in hopes of giving us a better world. Even he then realized that as it states in Genesis 8:21 “The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.”
Human beings are exactly that…human. Although some may argue that the story of evolution where man evolved from an ape is the true story of how we became human. But that version is just that…a story. “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27. Although those who believe in scientism may argue different, in the Bible we are reassured of being created as human to his image and to serve him.
Person after Death
My belief in God and his word tells me that I will have life after death. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24) With the beginning of Lent, ashes are placed upon us and we are reminded we are “ashes and to ashes we will return.”
Why is it possible to know anything at all?
Not only does one evolve physically, emotionally and mentally, but most importantly we evolve spiritually. We learn to use our faith and belief in God to carry us in our day to day. To accept that although at times of tragedy and difficulty he is still present and carries us through times we feel physically alone, yet spiritually we are not.
Right or Wrong?
As a nurse many times the concept of pluralism is many times encountered. What may...
