2 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY
1.3.1 GENERAL OBJECTIVE
To develop a computerized POS and Inventory System that will replace the Manual System and to give knowledge pertaining to the Computerized System that takes less time to monitor their stocks.
1.3.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
* To provide a reliable Summarization and Tabulation of stocks and Sales record of the company
* To create a process/system that is easier to use
* To avoid conflict on distribution channels inventory tally
* To save company finances from using a sort of Log Book on their sales inventory monitoring
1.3 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
A computerized Point-Of-Sale (POS) and Inventory System will be beneficial to the following
COMPANY - a computerized POS will make paying, changing and summing up items bought by the customer to be done faster and accurately. Nonetheless, an inventory system on the other hand makes monitoring stocked items availability
CUSTOMER - customers will be given an accurate computation of their items bought and queuing time is lessen
STUDENT - allows the student to be prepared and open minded in other system available there is. And to be competitive in the future for all criticism and rejection that will be encountered
1.4 SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The scope of study is for the inventory and POS system of “Kelly 2 Hardware and Construction Supply”. The study will include monthly sales and inventory of stocks, and the system that is being used by the said company as a subject for our thesis. It does not cover any other work or daily routine of the staffs whatsoever.
1.4 DEFINITION OF TERMS
INVENTORY - total amount of goods and materials held in stock by a factory, store and/or businesses
QUE - wait in line
SLUGGISH - slow moving, in-active
LOG BOOK - diary of actions to be undertaken, usually for a week, broken into half-hour sections
INVENTORY SYSTEM – a process whereby a business keeps track of the goods and materials available

2.1 RELATED LITERATURE
BPI launches mobile POS system for small, mobile businesses MANILA, Philippines - Ayala-run Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) has launched its newest banking service innovation-mPOS, the first ever live mobile Point-of-Sale system in the country which will enable the use of credit cards in small and mobile businesses.
BPI senior vice president for cardbanking Ginbee Go said they have decided to introduce this mobile technology to tap the “tiangge” market.
“Small and mobile businesses can benefit from accepting credit cards via mPOS in a number of ways,” Go said.
