This paper is a psychology paper that seeks to write a two page report on the article I read that is entitled ‘5 ways that the body language can signal trouble’. Sometimes there is no need to question our senses when it comes to judging someone concerning what he or she feels, body language explains everything. It is clear that a feeling for joy or happiness can be depicted by a smile on the face. On the other hand, frowning face would show a sign for defeat or trouble.
According to the article, a sense of trouble can be depicted by some indicative performance that shout out that indeed one is in trouble by for example shouting out some words that needs help or by performing body movements. Here are some of the ways I got from the article that will enable one see ...view middle of the document...
This feeling is characterized by rigidness, unmoving, stiffness and hands gripping own legs or arms rest as if one is in ejector seats.
Secondly, rocking back and forth is another body language sign which indicates that one is in an extremely stressful situation. According to the author, this situation is commonly depicted by adults when they receive some sudden terrible news. This reaction is usually common when one hears of a dead announcement of his or her colleague, mate, lover, relative and so forth. This behavior soothes and sounds primitive though it is of much help to troubled person.
Thirdly, assuming the petal position is another way to detect trouble from the other party. This feeling appears as if one tries to protect the belly side when crushed by the sudden news. According to the author, the person depicts this by turning away from the other party while holding his or her belly. The behavior appears to be somehow reassuring and somehow soothing. This behavior is usually common in women.
The fourth behavior is that of stiff interlaced fingers which is commonly depicted by children as they gain strength to reveal what they have done wrong or to show that they are not done with assignment tasks. As the author says, in addition to children, it is performed by adults when they receive broken news like for the couples, intention to quit job news, or accidents. Stiffening of fingers serves two purposes; it indicates a conscious awareness and arousal that there are issues.
Lastly, lips sucked in is another behavior performed mostly by politicians or sports club officials when dealing with negative things they hear or see. This behavior explains that the person is feeling great distress about a situation or they are feeling sorry. These are just some common behaviors among others.
