Psychology of Health in the Workplace

What is the definition of health? Health is defined as “ the proper function or the normal functions of an organisms parts, with them being of sound mind and or body, and them being free of any physical disease and or pain” ("Merriam Webster ", 2013). There is a relationship between health and psychology, because psychology is defined as “any mental or behavioral characteristics that is typical of an individual or a group of people” ("Merriam Webster ", 2013). Health and psychology are related because in order to be sound mind and body your mental health has to be good because if you are not okay in the mind then your body is not okay. These two subjects do go hand in hand because without one you cannot have the other functioning properly.

All of these could make it hard for you to work, due to being in and out of the hospital. Some people will develop cancer because of genetics and they will continue to work, but it makes it harder for them because they are constantly sick from chemotherapy. Also if you have a stroke because of your genes or because of behavioral habits then it could put you out of work for good because there is always the chance that you will not fully recover from it.
Lifestyle Choices that Enhance Health and Prevent Illnesses
Everyone has to make smart lifestyle choices to help prevent any illnesses and to enhance your body’s health. One way to do this is by eating right and exercising regularly. Another is to get checkups on the regular basis, because one checkup and your life could be changed. I know there are some people out there who do hate going to the doctor, but you never fully know what is going on within your body if you do not go have a doctor check you out and make sure everything is functioning the way it should be. If you stop smoking and drinking then that is another way to enhance your body’s health.
Health and Psychology. In conclusion, health and psychology are really important to any organism’s health and well-being, if one of them is not functioning properly that can cause a lot of other problems down the line in regards to your body’s overall health and functions. You have to keep your body working properly in order to avoid from having to quit working to get better, a good way to do this is going to see your physician regularly and making sure you are eating right and receiving enough fluids every day. Also behavioral habits are another way besides genetics to get sick or to develop life threatening diseases.
