College students are education-oriented, information seekers, and multi-tasking experts. In today’s college classrooms, much of the information used by students is done via social networking. Social media networks are designed for the purpose of collective connections. It has increasingly consumed college students’ everyday lives in accessing Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to connect and share with those around them (Miller, 2013).
The popularity of social networking is increasing fast. This is because people use it extensively to get access from different resources. These social networking sites have become a powerful craze for everyone nowadays.

The E -media is making use of information like texts, images, graphics, animation, video and audio sequences.
The influence of media is of no zero visibility because in this era, media dominate the society and the media outlet that the researchers would like to deal with is the e-media specifically the perception on Social Networking to their Social Lives.
As a vast sea of knowledge, the internet has become a choice source of information throughout the world. Studies show that people are now more inclined to read news and do social networking through services and platforms online. Revenues from printed newspapers are estimated to plunge from 45.4 billion in 2007 to only 28.4 billion in 2012. Advertising spending for television was already down to .05% in 2010 from 2.4% in 2007 following a shift to online content and advertising spending. The trends reflect how very easy it is to access and share information through the internet (Krol, 2008).
Social Networking in the advent of internet made the world accessible and translucent. It is also a factor that shapes students life inside and outside the school. However, there is ambiguity whether this suitability brought to the life of the students has helped them in their social lives. Online Social Networking is a comprehensive phenomenon; it is a useful tool for communication and advertising.
Students’ are cultured with social networking and it is unquestionable because this is the digital age thus this would like to identify the different perceptions of CAS students about social networking to their social lives.
Review of Related Literature
Digital Technologies developed steadily from the 1950’s. Human Communication process started to be supported by computers from 1980’s onward, with computers becoming more important in the 1990’s (Harasim, Hilts, Teles and Turoff 1990).
Media use provides an important backdrop for the social, emotional, and cognitive development of youth, accounting for a large portion of their time (Roberts, Foehr, & Rideout, 2005). One type of online application that has grown rapidly in popularity in recent years is social networking on the Internet.
Social networking is an online interaction service that managed to build people and connect them with shared interest (Boyd & Ellison, 2007). Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter has engrossed millions of users who have combined these sites into their daily practices. Some sites provide to varied audiences. According to Qaisar (2012) that during the last ten years, social networks have evolved from simple communication hubs to veritable agents of change; galvanizing thousands of people over political discourse, creating and changing industries, and all in all, transforming people’s lives.
