On August 5, 2010, Thirty-three men were trapped 2,300 feet below in a little copper mine situated in Chile where they experienced a cave-in. The miners were caught in a small space with inadequate, water, oxygen, and food, none of the miners came out not knowing if any of them were still alive. No one has heard from any of the miners for 17 days and not knowing if any of them where alive. As days passed everyone in Chile grew weary that they would never see those 33 men alive but they made a small bore hole to reach of the miners and by doing this they received a message from the miners that all thirty-three were still alive.

The representatives who have chosen by the company to handle these releases need to have to take great care in how it is done and to keep the reputation of the company intact, while making sure that all information is truthful and accurate. Because stating something that isn’t the truth can make a lot of people unset and look at the company in a different way. With this happening many people are affected by this disaster and not only did the collapse affect the thirty-three miners that were in the mines but it also affected the families and friends of those workers. The family members of the miners wait to hear if there love one will make it out alive. The company in charge if this need to make it one of their priority to let the family members know everything that is going on and what is being done to help their love ones come out from the mines safely. I think the potential needs of the families need be to get their family members together so you only have to tell it once, and the story won’t get change around and they will be told the truth no matter how much of the information is at the time or how bad it may be. They would also be providing the families with a piece of mind and ensuring the families that their loved ones are going to be okay which can alleviate the worry and harm to the workers. Getting some counselors to help with everyone cope of the hardships that are occurring. One of the biggest concerns for the company is to prove to the families of the workers by showing the families that they care what is going on and what is happening to the trapped miners and not of the negative publicity that could fall on to the company due to the cave ins.
What would be the potential needs of the company’s employees when receiving a message about this incident?
