Configuring Packet Filtering.
Packet filtering is often requested in households that have children. Packet filtering can be applied on a per computer basis.
1. Open the internet browser and navigate to 18.104.22.168.
2. Navigate to Access Restrictions.
3. Enable parental controls.
4. Add the targeted systems.
5. Set the schedule.
6. Add the blocked sites.
7. Ensure to save settings
8. Set the parental controls to Welcome@2 and ensure the customer has this password before leaving.
Packet filtering is an access control method that scans the income and outgoing data packets and stops them or lets the packets pass. In this sense packet filtering is a static firewall. This is based on rules that are set by the user. Packet filtering can be a useful tool in preventing access to websites that are demeaned to be inappropriate for children by parents. Packet filter is also a useful tool for denying access to specific protocols and ports. Packet filter will take a requested for a website, for instance any.adult.website.com, and bounce that request off of any preset roles. In the case of the tutorial, the adult site is explicitly denied. No one would be able to access the site without knowing the parental controls password.
