The product that is being discusses in this e-commerce paper in regard to persuasive messages is a cleaning product known as the Swivel Sweeper G2. The Swivel Sweeper G2 is primarily pushed on the internet and on late night television through a series of high volume infomercials. These infomercials captures viewers by blasting facts and enticing tidbits about this “wonderful” product. The movie media player is located in the top right corner of the homepage. The key points of the message are also flashed on the screen in large, bold white red outlined text that is to read text. The words are flashed directly at the top middle section of the video, so it directs your eyes to read what the video is saying. Strategically placed throughout the website are brightly colored messages that highlight the important features, prices, and special offers for the product.
Three E-Tailing Behaviors
The three primary behaviors in e-tailing is comparative pricing, bundling strategies, and loyalty programs. These e-tailing behaviors are particularly used in tangible retail products such as the Swivel Sweeper G2. Throughout the past decade online shopping has given budget conscious consumers a better method to shop around for the best prices and deals on products through the convenience of their own home. No more going to the store with a book full of coupons trying to save money. These different websites offer consumers a various benefits such as consumer ratings on products, critiques, information on promotions and specials, online instant discounts, warranty tips, and even product recall information.
In addition, to the company's sites, other websites also assist consumers in retrieving priceless information about products and saving. Other sites such as Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc), Blogs, Chat rooms, and even online reviews. This sites saves consumers a lot of time and even money because they can always find a good deal/steal with online pricing. Before the bloom in technology comparative pricing usually involved a lot of physical leg work of driving to the store to order and/or purchase items. Now this process has changed substantially, it takes only a few minutes to order products and it doesn't even require consumers to leave their homes. Even more so, majority of this websites offer shipping directly to the consumers home, no site to store shipping the middle man (the store) is no longer needed.
There are a number of myriad ways that e-tailers woo consumers into buying their products. As a consumer e-tailer wooing is one of the joys that online shopping offers. Throughout the website, especially on the homepage consumers will find several offers of extra goodies and items that the consumer will receive if the consumer decides to order the product.
