EXPLANATION: “Kiss” - is a 1986 single by Prince and the Revolution, from the album Parade. Kiss is about a man wanting a woman and not caring if she is perfect. He is very attracted to her and wants her kiss.

RESEARCH: Maroon 5 is an American pop band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in high school in 1994 and was formally known as Kara’s flowers. The band consists of Adam Levine (lead vocalist, guitarist), Jesse Carmichael (back-up vocals, keyboards, and rhythm guitar), Mickey Madden (bass guitarist), James Valentine (lead guitarist), and Matt Flynn (drummer). Maroon 5 has won 8 Grammy awards, 1 billboard music award, 2 MTV video awards, they have released three albums.

EXPLANATION: “AQUABOOGIE” is a song by George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic. This song is one my favorite dance tunes. The funky bass line just makes me want to dance at any given moment.

RESEARCH: Parliament-Funkadelic is a funk band formed in the late 1950’s by George Clinton in Plainfield, New Jersey. Their psychedelic rock touch comes from the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. There were sixteen members of this funk group but the most memorable are George Clinton (Band leader, vocals, keyboards, songwriter, producer), William “Bootsy”Collins (bass guitar, vocals, drums, songwriter, and producer), and Gary “Diaper man” Shider (vocals, guitar). Parliament-Funkadelic was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Atomic Dog is the only song produced by the group to reach #1 on the U S R&B charts.

RESEARCH: Sir-Mix A lot is a producer and emcee from Seattle, Washington. His record spinner and partner is DJ Nasty Mes. Sir-Mix A lot and DJ Nasty Mes founded Nasty mix record label in 1986. Baby Got Back went double platinum and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1993. Baby
Got Back’s video was controversial at the time that it was only shown at night.

RESEARCH: Barbara Streisand is an American singer, actress, film producer and director from Brooklyn, New York. The Way We Were is based on an American romantic film with costar Robert Redford. The Way We Were has won two Academy Wards for best original dramatic score and best original song. The song has sold over one million copies.
