AbstractBy issuing service request SR-rm-004, Riordan Manufacturing demonstrates their desire to develop a comprehensive view of their existing Human Resources Information System. This project is tasked with developing a strategy for fulfilling Riordan Manufacturing's service request, to include an in-depth evaluation of its current Human Resource department, identifying gaps that may be bridged with either upgrades or the introduction of new systems to improve management effectiveness and efficiency. Excel is used to track tracking and development, the status of applicants to the company, and the results of job analyses, job surveys, and individual compensation decisions. A third party provider manages the worker's compensation plan and keeps their records. All other data is decentralized and maintained within each work center manager's office.Company morale and employee satisfaction have indicators of a sharp decline. Based on an internal memorandum in the company's intranet site by Yvonne McMillin, employee complaints have risen by 23 percent during the last quarter. The increase in complaints stem in areas of unfair discipline levied on employees, unfair promotion practices, inadequate training, and employee attendance. Each one of these areas point to a need for an improved Human Resource department. Despite these indicators, the team will still provide in-depth information gathering.The first method of gather in the data will be a companywide survey. The survey will include both open-ended and close-ended questions.
