The Development of My Literacy
For the Chinese, the literacy is a rather important talent in current society. It is a trouble thing if you cannot read and write because people need through writing to express their own opinions and via reading to learn a lot of knowledge from literatures. That is the main reason why people sent their children to school to learn the literacy. There are some significant events to inspire and influence my ability of reading and writing of my first language.

At first, the articles I wrote were tedious and merely ramble on what I see during the trips; my mother would help me to collect admirable articles from the newspapers and magazines. The aim of this action was in order to make me know the excellent words, sentence structure and different rhetoric. Several months later, she let me to do this thing by myself. My mother actually gives me a profound effect in my history of literacy, because she taught me the method of improving literacy and she told that the way of learning knowledge is more critical than learning.
At high school, I began to contact English writing and gradually realized the different literacy. Although I writing numerous simple English essays in China, I really comprehend the difference between two kinds of writing after I transfer to the University of Cincinnati in United States. The writing of second language is fairly challenging to me. The trickiest obstacle is the logical part in English writing which involves the issue of different cultures. People often think dissimilarly under the diverse cultural backgrounds which can be directly appeared on literacy. For example, Chinese would like to put the important points at the end of paragraphs which makes the article more obscure, however, American would like to state the main points at the beginning which let the article more distinct. In my earlier writing, I always interpret Chinese into English word by word which result in the essay still can be regarded as a Chinese article even though I use the English words.
