However to think they should draft poorand lower-middle class people as well as uneducated people is just anotheruneducated decision in itself. Nothing in life can prepare you for war,nothing in life compares to the experiences of fighting an action like the worldwars.Troop levels and resources are maxed out with military interventions aroundthe globe, primarily in Afghanistan and Iraq. More and more military age malesavoiding the military. The men and women that are now in active military serviceare not going to be there forever. The military again, has failed to meet its quotathis year. Who will cover the spots that the military cannot fill voluntarily?Polls show the American people are strongly against the draft. There remains agrowing disapproval for the undeclared war in Iraq and the Bush administration.The talk of a war with Iran has poor military aged males stressing. The rich,however, have a renewed vigor and purpose for getting those straight A's. Fornow, the draft remains on permanent hiatus. The debate over whether it shouldbe unearthed rages on, as do the fears of many young adults across the country.
