The reason for writing this letter is to notify our community of the possible health risks established by the local gas company practices. The decision made to write this letter is to inform my much-loved community of people that may have been affected by this sudden break out of illnesses in the area and to spread the word of awareness to this situation to everyone else that might not be aware of this problem. After an extensive investigation I have come to the conclusion that we are in danger of health problems due to improper practices by the gas company within our community some years ago. Angie, a close friend and experienced inspector, decided to call the gas company headquarters and investigate their practices. Knowing that repeats history itself I decided to research on the internet and the local library of previous events such as this exact one. Unfortunately, Susie was unable to gain any helpful evidence because the gas company went to the extreme on making sure that this matter did not reach the press. The 1984 gas leak in Bhopal, India, was a terrible tragedy that understandably continues to evoke strong emotions even 26 years later (, 2001-2011). To avoid this happening within our community we decided to create a local petition, reaching our goal of 500 individuals to sign this in concerns with their health and all the other families within our community in effort to bring about a resolution. Figuring we should push the limits even further, we need your help to prevent any health issues related to such problem and any that may occur in the future. I plan to hold a local meeting this Tuesday at the local library to discuss any possible solutions pertaining to this issue.
