Dear Dr. Hassan,
Enclosed is the report that you requested in May about the traffic congestion in Abu-Dhabi. The information for this report came from different sources such as; articles and online sources as well as survey that was simply administered by one of our colleague who is currently working as governmental employee, we appreciate her effort and time in distributing the questionnaire around, collecting the data and then we all analyze it to come up with the proper solution for our case.
The report recommended two solutions : intelligent transportation system and automated parking facilities to resolve the traffic congestion .The problems encountered during the research included :difficulties in finding online and written documented resources based on governmental position statement on congestion and their strategies to resolve the issue

* Executive Summary:

This project recommends traffic congestions in Abu Dhabi needs management problem and possible solutions, since congestion cannot be measured by the free-flow of vehicles on roads only; it needs accurate and electronic system. Reason behind that is the lack of current public transport infrastructure and increase in number of cars used. Consequently, congestion affects people’s safety, which drivers recognize but act careless sometimes, for their over self-confident in driving. This paper discussed some of the common solutions in UAE especially in Abu Dhabi including ITS project, and Mawaqif the electronic parking system by details.
Using an explanatory sequential mixed methodology, this project would be conducted in two phases; quantitative research followed by qualitative one in order to get the best of both data. Because, using both of them gives persuasive results and findings. Therefore, a questionnaire was created, consisting of multiple choice questions close ended ones, plus one open ended question at the end for extra comments. Furthermore, results were calculated by answers token and discussed by the respondents.
