What Got Me Thinking Essay

What Got Me ThinkOne of the things that got me thinking while in health is how much fat and calories I get into my body by eating fast food everyday. Of finding out how much effect exercise can have on my life I was thinking about doing 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity at least 4 or 5 days a week.Finding out that Cardio vascular disease is a number one killer in America and that it kills more that 2,500 people everyday got me thinking of the risk factors that can contribute to cardio vascular disease. One of those risk factors is tobacco use, since smokers have twice the risk for heart attack of nonsmokers. Nearly one-fifth of all deaths from cardiovascular disease are smoking-related. Also people who are not physically active have twice the risk for heart disease of those who are active. Poor nutrition also has effect on cardio vascular disease because people who are overweight have a higher risk for cardiovascular disease.Another thing that got me thinking is alcohol use. Especially since it's the most commonly used psychoactive substance used in the United States. One of the general effects of alcohol is that it's a downer that reduces activity in the central nervous system. Also the effects of alcohol intoxication are greatly influenced by individual variations among users. Drinking also increases the risk of injury such as car crashes, falls, burns, drowning, and suicide are all linked to alcohol and other drug use.
